Appreciation Post: Snack Baskets Aftercare

This aftercare audio, ❤️.

My reflection and impressions on this file date back to fall 2025, when I had just officially started listening to Shibby faithfully, after 3 years of casual listening.

I really wanted to write this piece because I had a moment.

I could write at length, or I could write it more concisely. Hmm, which one… 🤔

Let’s just say, it was a bit of a jaw-dropping moment when I first heard this file.

I was so touched by her actions. She was just recounting her experience at her volunteering place, and who knows how long ago was that…

But it was so sweeeeeeeeet of her!

It was jaw-dropping to me back then because I hadn't known much about her and was very unsure about her character.

Of course, I still am not so sure, because I don’t know her in real life (duh). But at least I can cheekily sneak in a few “Shobby” from time to time. 😛

Before fall 2025, I would only listen to her files on and off because I had my inhibitions. I was also primarily a M4F listener. For erotic audio, I never like(d) listening to female creators (except Shibby). I generally have a preference for male creators. This applies to songs and ASMR as well.

Not only that, I was anti-hypnosis.

When I first came across Shibby in 2022, I felt comfortable with continuing to listen to her files, after exploring a few files out of curiosity.

Even though she came across as intimidating in her files, I actually felt okay to continue listening. I just had this feeling that she's a good person.

No matter how unsure I was and how intimidated I felt, I just had this lingering feeling. It was what made me feel okay even though I didn’t know anything about her.

I needed to have some sense of that in order to listen. I’m pretty much like that towards any creative work (e.g. singers I actively support), but this was particularly important for hypnosis too.

Through the years though, I would think about it from time to time - Is she really a good person? Why do I think she’s really a good person?

In her dom persona, it can be quite scary. I was always observing, and the file descriptions alone were able to intimidate me. But something just tells me she is a good person.

I think my instincts picked that up.

In Sep/Oct 2025…

On a random day, after listening to my favorite file, Let Your Inner Slut Out, I had just decided for myself that I want to achieve a real HFO. I was suddenly determined after 3 years. And so during that period of time,  I checked out a bunch of files and found this Snack Baskets Aftercare audio.

I don’t normally listen to aftercare audio, because I don’t see the need for it?

But for some reason, I decided to listen to this file. I don’t remember if I listened to it after a file or casually listened to it while doing something else.

When it reached that part where she said she would buy pizza for the people at the shelter she volunteered at, and subsequently prepared these snack baskets, I had a mix of emotions all at once:

  • shocked
  • touched
  • surprised by how my instinct was right
  • happy that my instinct was right

and… she proceeded to say that she would observe who took a particular snack, or remember who liked what snack. She would make sure to include the favorite snacks of the people she liked.

It’s just… omg!! Ahhh! Incredibly sweet! Omg I’m having trouble writing this coherently, because I feel so overwhelmed once again as I recall what she said in that audio. I haven’t listened to that file in months!

The pizza part was already so sweet, and this later part on the snacks basket was just omggg ❤️

These acts of kindness are so inspiring! I want to be like her in this regard.

Who would automatically buy pizza for lunch for people at their workplace (or volunteering place in this case)? Or rather, how many people would take this initiative? It’s not something we commonly hear about or that people automatically think of doing? I was just so touched by her initiative and actions.

In the file, she mentioned how the kind volunteers would sometimes forget to eat lunch as they were too focused in their work. As such, they would become hangry (hungry thus angry) without knowing. They’re normally very kind people. But when they are hangry, they might talk in a mean tone.

It’s why she decided to resolve this by getting food and snacks for people. It made everyone happy.

She said it was so unnecessary for the unpleasantness to happen - volunteers being unintentionally mean to each other as they were hangry.

I don’t remember the exact words but Shibby said, “… it was just so unnecessary.”

And this sentence stuck with me.

Someday in Oct 2025, in Tokyo…

Lunch at Ikebukuro

I was on vacation with my mother in Japan. I was there to attend a concert and my mother wanted to tag along. It had been many years since we last visited.

I don’t have a close relationship with my mother/parents. I treat them as I would anyone - kindly, considerately and respectfully (as much as I can). The emotional distance makes everyone happier.

I don’t really remember what happened. But… since it was just the both of us and we constantly had to face each other, it became increasingly draining and tiring over time. I was also having PMS. I was more irritable than usual, I suppose.

PMS is worse when you carry a lot of suppressed emotional burden (from childhood). I also had to be the translator for my mom, even for asking the simplest things. It got onto my nerves at one point, because I was so tired. (In this day and age, you could just use a translate app on your phone, right?)

We were in our AirBnb and discussing about something at first… I don't remember what happened, but at one point, everything just felt so tiring for me, I raised my voice at her. It tends to be explosive when it happens because I suppress a lot of emotions.

I didn’t feel good at all, for yelling at her. It’s not even me to talk to people like that.

I’m not like that but I grew up with a mother who often acted like that. When I was a kid, she was hot-tempered and often overbearing. I have a lot of built-up frustration from childhood issues that I’m still unpacking today. I’m almost done unpacking as of today, as I'm writing this post. I just wanted to share this story for the sake of this post.

Some time after the yelling, I remember squatting down, packing my backpack on the floor and inevitably reflecting on what I had just done. Japanese apartments are very small, so we were still in close proximity (about two arms length away). We just went silent.

On one hand, I thought, I’ve really had enough with tolerating my mother’s way of being, so my yelling wasn’t exactly uncalled for. On the other hand, I didn’t like that I angrily raised my voice. Moreover, I had been meditating diligently to some Buddhist teachings (YT videos from a meditation center) and so, I very well knew that I didn’t have to react that way. That energy didn’t need to spread. I was more disappointed in myself than being upset at my mom.

I contemplated whether to “make amends” while packing my bag.

Shibby's Words...

Suddenly, Shibby’s words popped up in my head, “It was just so unnecessary.”

And I thought, yeah, me yelling at my mom was so unnecessary. I could have paused to compose myself before responding, no matter how annoyed I was by whatever my mom did/said in that moment. After all, part of it was the PMS speaking. I didn’t like that I yelled!

In that moment, I recalled the whole Snack Baskets Aftercare audio. I was once again warmed by the story in my head, and remembered how much I loved that Shibby took the initiative. She chose to take the initiative to solve a problem because she genuinely cared about people.

Coming back to my situation… I thought, yeah it was unnecessary. I didn’t have to yell. I could have tried my best to express my frustrations calmly and normally. And if she weren’t going to listen or treat my frustrations seriously for the nth time, I could forget about this whole thing and move on. Because anyway, I don’t have a close relationship with her, it actually doesn’t matter. It’s already expected that she would behave this/that way, so what for get upset?

Also, my mom is the type who doesn’t admit her mistakes and faults, and I obviously don’t want to be like her.

At one point in my life, I needed to accept the fact that I’ve outgrown my parents. I have been shaped to be the more mature one even though I’m the child. I should stick to that - don’t be like them.

In that silence, I don’t remember how I started talking, I probably started with something else (e.g. asking a question). I mean, we had to break the ice first right? 😅 And then I told her I was sorry for yelling at her earlier. I also added the PMS bit lol.

My mom’s reaction was chill and okay about it. We continued with our conversations, I think.

After that incident, I became more mindful about my reactions. I made sure to cling on to Shibby’s words for the rest of the trip haha. It was so helpful and I have held a deep appreciation for this file ever since.

Not only has this file touched my heart, but it also helped me in real life. I think I like it very much because it aligns with who I am. It helps to have this little reminder from time to time too.

The gist of it all is that it is unnecessary - being mean towards people, being angry, yelling at people. We only need to resolve the issue at hand, no need for the meanness. We just need to consciously remember to pause for a bit when we feel overwhelmed. It’s a good mindset to carry everywhere we go.
